November 2013 in Sumter, SC followed the trend of being a slower month for home sales in Sumter, SC, but it had a month to month increase of 13.3% over November 2012.  In November 2013 there was 68 homes sold in Sumter, SC down slightly from the 70 in October 2013.  The 2013 year to date homes sales continued to out pace prior year back to 2009 with 871 homes sold.  The year to date increase for 2013 from 2012 is 23%.  The number of homes under contract at the end of November 2013 in Sumter SC was 149.  This was an decrease over the number of homes pending at the end of October 2013. 

 

The median home price decreased slightly in November 2013 to $130,500 as did the average sale price at $137,535.  The price per square foot did fall to $65.03 from $65.82 in October 2013.  I will not be surprised to see the trend in the decrease of the price per square foot continue as we see many investors picking up foreclosures during the colder month when competition isn’t as high. 

 

The charts for Sumter SC Real Estate in November 2013 are below.  The Sumter SC inventory of homes for sale continues to be high and the prices are reflecting this trend.  The interest rates are still low and purchasing a home in Sumter, SC is still a great investment.
