The number of homes sold in the Sumter South Carolina in the month of February increased from 49 in January to 57 in February.  The February units sold fell in line with numbers of homes sold in Sumter County in February since 2009.   It is now mid March and we are experiencing an increase in the market activity.   

Second the Median and Average home price in Sumter was up over the prior several months.  Sumter also saw a increase in the Average $ per Square Foot which is normally an indication of more owner occupants purchasing homes rather than investors.  

The charts for February are below and I feel we will fall in line with 2010 and 2011 numbers for 2012.  Right now the best thing to do is stay the course.  If you are going to be selling a home in 2012, now is the time to contact a Realtor to do a walk through and discuss pricing and any repairs or improvements that can be complete to sell your property.  For more information or a free walk thru, please call me at 803-840-7519.
