ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!

After an appointment in Columbia, I offered my husband his choice of restaurants for lunch.  We discussed a couple places and when Cracker Barrel was mentioned the decision was made.  So we were off to Cracker Barrel at Sandhills in Northeast Columbia.  (Sandhills is a nice shopping area to visit.)
As always good meal and great service.  My compliments to the manager also.  The manager stood in the kitchen door and told the servers and the kitchen staff they had done a great job with lunch service.  Hooray for him!!!!  If more managers were like that there would be a lot happier employees in this world!
Back to the subject though....
Cracker Barrel was a treat for my sister and...

House vs. Home

My Home vs The House

Many sellers struggle with putting their homes on the market.  Homes are a personal thing.  Homes are where we live.  Where we retreat to after a long hard day.  Where our families met up each day to discuss their days and activities. …....SCREECH!  Stop those thoughts!

As a seller of a home in Sumter, you need to think of this property as a HOUSE.  It is bricks, vinyl, mortar, sheet rock and flooring.  A HOUSE has less emotional attachment than a home.  As a Realtor, one of the first things I learned was a property is a HOUSE to the Seller and a HOME to the Buyer.  It is the emotional attachment that is the only difference.

So as a seller, you are now living a in HOUS...

Sumter Real Estate: VA Funding Fees

VA Funding Fees

VA Funding Fees

VA Funding Fees are the money’s a borrower pays to use their VA benefits when purchasing a home.  The Funding Fees are normally added to the total principal of the loan.  When the borrower is putting no money down, the result of adding the Funding Fees is the mortgage is higher than the sale price of the home.  Though the funding fee may not seem like a lot at the time of purchase in the recent market of low appreciation if any, this increase to the mortgage can cost borrowers when they try to sell.

The VA Funding Fee is  different depending on if the veteran is using the benefit for the first time or for subsequent purchases.  The Funding Fe...

This home is unique.  Originally built as a single family home in 1949, it was later converted into a duplex and has since been returned to a single family home.  The home has a wonderful front porch to enjoy the evenings.  The front room has high ceilings and is mirrored by a second sitting room at the front of the house.  The home has two bathrooms and then two bedrooms that sit at the back of the house.  Included in the 1500 square feet is the a dining room and kitchen that has been updated.  The seller is willing to replace the windows if the offer is acceptable.

For more information about this wonderful older home in downtown Sumter click here.

Willard Farms Welcomes Spring to Sumter

Last fall, we visited Willard Farms for their pumpkin patch and enjoyed a hay ride and family time walking through the pumpkin patch and learning more about the farm.

Willard Farms MarketWillard Farms is a family run farm that has expanded beyond traditional row crops and is reaching out to consumers in the area to help develop agricultural knowledge in the community.  They are kicking off the spring season with a remodel of the market store.  They have had a new tile floor installed and are moving the candy kettle out of the kitchen and into the store for all to see.  Jamie and Mrs. Willard cook up over 400 different types of fudge!  Along with the traditional flavors, they have a specialties like Southe...
